The Ministry of Justice reported that a total of 13 people have been arrested in connection with the investigation into the Minguzzi murder and threats against his family. The statement indicated that 4 of these individuals are linked to the murder, 1 to grave desecration, 3 to threats against the family, and 5 to assault incidents.
The Ministry of Justice announced that a total of 13 people are currently detained as part of the investigations regarding the murder of 15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who lost his life in a knife attack in Kadıköy.
The Ministry of Justice made a statement regarding the decisions made today in the case seen at the Bakırköy 4th Juvenile Court concerning 5 minors who sent threatening messages to Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi's family and made posts praising the knife attackers, who were killed by stabbing on January 24, 2025, in Kadıköy.

In the statement made by the Ministry of Justice, it was stated, "As part of the investigation initiated by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the Minguzzi murder, 4 minors are detained for the crime of 'Qualified Intentional Murder Against a Child in Participation'. The detention of these individuals continues. Additionally, 1 person is detained in connection with the incident of damage to Minguzzi's grave," it was said.
The statement continued, "Furthermore, an investigation is being conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for the crime of 'Threat' upon the complaint of the threats made against Ahmet Minguzzi's family via social media. The decision made today is related to the case opened concerning those detained in this investigation. Accordingly, in the session of the Bakırköy 4th Juvenile Court dated May 23, 2025, 1 minor was sentenced to 1 year and 8 months in prison for the crime of 'Praising the Crime and the Criminal'. For 1 minor, a sentence of 4 years and 8 months in prison was given for the crime of 'Threat with a Weapon in a Chain', and it was decided that the detention status would continue. A verdict of acquittal was given for the other 4 minors, and it was ruled that judicial control measures would be applied. On the other hand, an indictment has been prepared against 2 detained adult suspects for 'Threatening with multiple people, praising the crime and the criminal, and insult'. These individuals are still detained," it was stated.

In the statement emphasizing that the decisions made today regarding the investigation into the threats against the family only concern the minors, it was reported that a total of 13 people are detained as part of the investigations regarding the murder.
The statement said: "As a result, the decision made in today's hearing regarding the investigation into the threats against the family only concerns the minors. The detention of 2 adult suspects in this matter also continues. Therefore, including 1 minor, a total of 3 people are currently detained. Another investigation is directed at the assault of a person living in the same neighborhood as Ahmet Minguzzi due to a social media post, which was allegedly carried out by individuals stated to be friends of the murder suspects. In this investigation conducted by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 5 minors are also detained. In summary, a total of 13 people are detained for all these charges: 4 for murder, 1 for damage to the grave, 3 for threatening the family, and 5 for the assault on Minguzzi's friend."
