Security camera footage has emerged regarding the accident that occurred yesterday when an IETT bus lost control while in motion and crashed into a business operating as a parking lot and car wash on Uludağ Street in the Esenler district of Istanbul.
ONE PERSON WAS SAVED AT THE LAST MOMENT
In the footage recorded by the security camera, it can be seen that a person walking on the sidewalk narrowly escaped being trapped under the bus.
"NO ONE EVEN GOT A SCRATCH"
Eyewitness Kamil Çepni stated, "We had just come to the tire shop. Suddenly, we heard a loud noise. Since I am a search and rescue volunteer, I immediately told them to open the bus door. There were 25 people inside. After evacuating them, we secured the scene. Friends arrived. There were no injuries. No one even got a scratch. We were told that the car's gas pedal was stuck. The driver's condition is also good," he said.
"A LOUD NOISE ERUPTED"
Ahmet Şen, a tradesman, said, "I am a tradesman here. At that moment, we had a customer. A loud noise erupted. It came quickly. It climbed over the garage. There were about 20-25 passengers inside the bus. We evacuated the passengers along with the driver. We let the passengers off. There were no injuries. Most likely, the gas pedal was stuck. We safely let the children and women off. Then we reported it to the police," he said.
