In the case regarding the stabbing murder of 15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi in Kadıköy, B.B. and U.B. were sentenced to 24 years in prison at the maximum limit for the crime of 'intentional murder of a child,' while the defendants M.A.D. and A.Ö. were acquitted. Following the announcement of the verdict, tensions arose in the courthouse, and mother Yasemin Minguzzi collapsed, having a nervous breakdown.
On January 24, in the Kadıköy district of Istanbul, the case of Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi (14), who was stabbed to death by his peers while he was at the market to buy skateboarding equipment, was decided in the 6th hearing.
DECISION IN THE MINGUZZI CASE
The court sentenced two of the four defendants to the maximum penalty. B.B. and U.B. were sentenced to 24 years in prison for the crime of "intentional killing of a child." No reduction for provocation was applied. The other two defendants, M.A.D. and A.Ö., were acquitted and released.
YASEMİN MİNGUZZİ COLLAPSED AFTER A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN
After the decision was announced in the Minguzzi case, there was great tension in the courthouse. Mother Yasemin Minguzzi collapsed in the courthouse corridor after having a nervous breakdown following the verdict.
