ERCİYES MOUNTAIN: THE NEW FAVORITE OF CARAVAN ENTHUSIASTS With its internationally standard long slopes, snow quality, technical infrastructure, and unique natural scenery, Erciyes Mountain has become the new destination for caravan enthusiasts who want to engage in winter tourism. In addition to its 5-star hotels and luxury accommodation facilities, Erciyes also hosts caravanners in a sheltered private camping area equipped with amenities such as kitchen, hot water, washing machine, and dryer. The caravan area, preferred by those who want to spend time in nature and explore the beauty of the regions they stay in, has become a new accommodation option for visitors who want to ski in Erciyes.
26 CARAVAN SPOTS HAVE BEEN CREATED Zafer Akşehirlioğlu, Chairman of the Board of Erciyes AŞ, told AA reporter that there are all kinds of facilities for those who want to ski in Erciyes. Emphasizing that they have created a special area for caravan enthusiasts, Akşehirlioğlu stated:
"Our hotels are thankfully full. Both our mountain hotels and city hotels are filled with our guests. In addition, of course, our more free-spirited guests can also want to spend their winter holiday in a caravan just as they do in summer caravan camps. We had started a project related to this in the summer. In response to the requests, our Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality took very quick action. Our Mayor of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, Memduh Büyükkılıç, immediately gave such an instruction to solve the problem here and brought this caravan area to Erciyes. Therefore, it has also received quick interest. Our guests who come with their caravans in winter go skiing in the morning and enjoy skiing on the slopes all day. Then they return to their caravans. We have 26 caravan spots here. There is security at the entrance. It is a place where our caravanning guests can stay comfortably without any problems. There are areas with a kitchen, washing machine, dryer, and refrigerator that they can use in common. Also, electricity, water, and all sewage connections have been made. In other words, a space has been created where caravanners can stay comfortably and enjoyably."
'LAUNDRY ROOM WAS A MUST FOR US' Oğuz Şanal, who is staying in his caravan, stated that he first came to Erciyes 55 years ago and that the facilities have developed significantly since then. Explaining that he has been interested in caravans for about 8 years, Şanal said:
"The laundry room, dishwashing area, kitchen, and hot water are all clean and sparkling. There are 24-hour snow and ice management operations. There are waste disposal areas. The laundry room was a must for us. It has really been a great convenience. I am very pleased to be here. Generally, I go out to ski around 10:00-10:30. I make my choice at that point. The slopes are extremely well-maintained. The staff works diligently. I have seen very few places in Turkey where customer satisfaction is so prominent. The security measures are quite good. From now on, this will always be our choice."
'IT WAS GOOD FOR PEACE AND RELAXATION' Ümit Bozkurt stated that he came from Istanbul to see Erciyes and ski. Explaining that they try to come every year, Bozkurt said, "It was nice to have this caravan park because we were in the parking area. Having a separate place like this is much better. It has been good for both security and peace of mind. Do your sport, come, relax. This place has become very nice. We thank those who contributed."
