GEDIZ RIVER OVERFLOWED WITH THE HEAVY RAIN
The flow of the Gediz River, which originates from Kütahya and flows into the Aegean Sea from the Foça district of İzmir, has increased due to the recent heavy rain. As a result of the rising water level in the river that passes through the borders of the Şehzadeler district, flooding occurred.
AGRICULTURAL LANDS ARE UNDER WATER
With the overflow of the river, the surrounding agricultural lands, vineyards, and summer houses were submerged. Thousands of hectares of land in the plain section of the Manisa-İzmir ring road, which passes near the Spil neighborhood, were also covered with water. The flooded Gediz Plain was captured by drone. Meanwhile, damage assessment work has been initiated in the region.
