The detained journalists Murat Ağırel and Timur Soykan reportedly did not share the passwords of their mobile phones and digital devices with the police.

Journalists Timur Soykan and Murat Ağırel were detained in early morning police raids on their homes due to complaints from Erkan Kork, the owner of Flash TV and Bank Pozitif, who is currently imprisoned in a money laundering investigation, on charges of "threat" and "blackmail."

After their procedures at the police station, the journalists were referred to the courthouse and were sent to court with a request for arrest.
