The detection of harmful bacteria in Şenpiliç's "My Mother's Meatballs Chicken Butcher Meatballs" product has caused an uproar in the public. The company, which had its products recalled and was fined 210,622 lira, faced backlash for downplaying the significant food scandal by simply stating, "We are sorry" in their announcement.
During inspections conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry teams in Sakarya, it was determined that the bacterium ''L monocytogenes'' was found in a product belonging to Şenpiliç, one of Turkey's leading chicken producers.
PENALTY LIKE A REWARD
The ministry issued a message to distribution points, ordering the recall of the product marketed by the relevant company under the name 'My Mother's Meatballs Chicken Butcher Meatballs', while a fine of 210,622 TL was imposed on the food giant.
