In the ceremony held recently, Mustafa Bilici, a deputy from Izmir who switched from the Future Party to the AK Party and had his badge pinned by President Erdogan, made important statements on the agenda on Haberler.com. Evaluating the then 'Table of Six,' Bilici said, 'I regret supporting Kilicdaroglu.'

At the ceremony held recently, Mustafa Bilici, the Izmir deputy who switched from the dissolved Future Party to the AK Party and whose badge was pinned by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was a guest of Olgun Kiziltepe, the News Director at Haberler.com.

DID HE BELIEVE KILICDAROGLU WOULD WIN?

Bilici, who made assessments on many issues on the agenda, from the dissolution of the Future Party to the Table of Six and the Terror-Free Turkey process, drew attention with his answer to journalist Olgun Kiziltepe's question, "Did you believe Kilicdaroglu would win the election?"

"IT WAS FOR THE BEST THAT HE COULDN'T WIN"

AK Party Izmir Deputy Mustafa Bilici stated that many polls conducted at that time showed that CHP Chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu would win, saying, "But there is a saying in politics by the late Demirel; 'Even the last two hours matter greatly.' Voters can change their decision at the last moment. Of course, Meral Hanim's departure and her return affected all of that at the time, but we say there is goodness in what happened. Because after the election, especially in the meeting between the Chairman of the Victory Party and Mr. Kilicdaroglu, the fact that the other five party leaders in the Table of Six were not aware of the written promises he made, when we look back, we say 'It was for the best'."

"REGRETTABLE FOR SUPPORTING KILICDAROGLU?"

Bilici answered the question, "Have you regretted supporting Kilicdaroglu?" as follows:

"Yes, yes, yes. The fact that an agreement was reached to give a position like the Ministry of Interior to the chairman of the Victory Party, who is very far from my intellectual world, that they signed it, and that they hid it from the party leaders of the political parties that were components of the Table of Six and from the public, has certainly created regret."

RESPONSE TO CRITICISMS

Mustafa Bilici, responding to the criticisms directed at him by the opposition after joining the AK Party, said, "Of course there will be criticisms, and there should be. I think it is necessary to be tolerant of criticism in democracies. They may have some justification, but I am among those who advocate a fundamental change in the electoral system. Whichever political party you were elected from, it is best to continue with that party. But there is this; although we entered the election under the framework of the Table of Six from the Republican People's Party, we, with all the organizations of the Future Party across Turkey, and the same applies to the DEVA Party and the Felicity Party, did not enter the election with our own banner, in our own home, within that agreement framework. We entered the election with the Republican People's Party's list. Therefore, all our members voted for the Republican People's Party at that time."

TERROR-FREE TURKEY PROCESS

Mustafa Bilici also made assessments regarding the Terror-Free Turkey process and the framework law prepared for the process, using the following statements:

"In my opinion, the National Brotherhood and Democracy Commission established in the Turkish Grand National Assembly to solve a century-old problem of Turkey undertook a very historic duty and fulfilled it properly.

As a member of that commission, let me state this: I and my other friends on the commission had the opportunity to listen to almost all segments of society. Again, during that period, we had the opportunity to go abroad and meet with the administrators, prime ministers, and justice ministers of countries that had experienced such conflict and resolution processes before. I think it was a very good experience.

"AS ONE WHO HAS LIVED THE PAIN, I SEE IT AS BENEFICIAL"

As a child of the region, as someone who has lived through the pain, I can see how much the solution to this problem will benefit society and Turkey. I also expressed my thoughts in my meeting with our President before the transition. I stated that it was a huge step and also expressed the steps that need to be taken after this law is passed.

Let me say this, I would like to thank our President, Mr. Devlet Bahceli, and all the political parties and non-governmental organizations that contributed greatly, and I also want to thank the families of our dear martyrs and our veterans.

Because we encountered situations like this; believe me, in the meetings we held in the commission with the representatives of associations founded by the relatives of martyrs, in our meetings with our veterans, and in our meetings with the Saturday Mothers who lost their relatives, almost all of them had requests: 'We have experienced these pains, let no more pain be experienced, let us not lose more of our children, please solve this problem.'

"STRONG SUPPORT"

With such strong support present, and for perhaps the first time in this process, the fact that civil politics and almost all political parties with and without groups in Parliament are supporting the process is, I think, a great chance and advantage.

In the previous process, approximately 12-13 meetings were held between the state and the organization, but unfortunately all of them failed and did not reach a conclusion. But this time, an will was demonstrated sufficient to pass this law, and the will shown by the deputies, the political parties, and of course our President and the Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party, Mr. Devlet Bahceli, as well as the will demonstrated by the organization's leader, was also important.

We have come this far. Hopefully, in the upcoming process, a monitoring board has been established. Likewise, Parliament will be involved in this, receiving information at very frequent intervals. A monitoring board will also be established in Parliament. I believe that within 6 months, a large part of the organization members will benefit from the law and return to the country."
