A 39-year-old man staying at a hotel in Antalya was found dead in the bathroom of his room by a cleaning staff. As the death was deemed suspicious, homicide bureau teams were dispatched to the scene, and the man's body was taken to the forensic medicine for an autopsy.
The incident occurred at a hotel on 703rd Street in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood of the Muratpaşa district. According to the information obtained, the cleaning staff noticed a person lying face down on the floor in the bathroom when they entered the room.
FOUND DEAD IN HOTEL ROOM
After the situation was reported to the hotel authorities, a notification was made to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Following the report, health and security teams were dispatched to the hotel. During the examination conducted by the health teams, it was determined that the man had passed away. After the municipal physician assessed the death as suspicious, the Homicide Bureau of the Public Security Department, Crime Scene Investigation teams, and the public prosecutor were called to the hotel.
IDENTITY CONFIRMED
Investigations at the scene revealed that the deceased was 39-year-old Recep Bektaş. The Crime Scene Investigation teams found signs of trauma and blood traces on Bektaş's head area, indicating he had fallen.
INVESTIGATION INITIATED
In the investigation, it was learned that Bektaş checked into the hotel around 7:00 PM the previous evening, left the hotel shortly after to go to a market, and returned to the hotel after a while. An examination of security camera footage and entry-exit records revealed that no one other than Bektaş had entered or exited the room.
After the identification, Bektaş's brother arrived at the scene upon learning the situation. After the public prosecutor completed the examination, Bektaş's lifeless body was taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institution to determine the exact cause of death. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
