The mysterious videos shared on the White House's social media accounts, one of which was deleted shortly after, sparked a debate over whether it was a "hack or a deliberate message" due to the uncertainty of their content and the lack of an official statement.
Short and mysterious videos shared from the official social media accounts of the White House quickly reached millions of views, sparking discussions.
"IT STARTS SOON, DOESN'T IT?"
On Wednesday evening, two videos were shared in succession from the White House's X and Instagram accounts. The first video was published around 9:15 PM Eastern Time. In the 4-second clip, which appears to have been shot with a smartphone, the camera is pointed at a person's feet, while a female voice says, "It starts soon, doesn't it?" The screen also displayed the text "turn up the volume." The video was deleted from the accounts approximately 90 minutes after it was shared.
THE SECOND VIDEO ALSO CAUGHT ATTENTION
The second video, shared at 10:00 PM, featured a black and static-filled screen. While a phone notification sound was heard, an image of the American flag was seen in one frame. The post included smartphone and sound emojis.
IS A MYSTERIOUS MESSAGE BEING SENT?
While no official statement has been made regarding the content or purpose of the videos, many users on social media suggested that the accounts may have been hacked or that officials were trying to convey a mysterious message.
A STATEMENT FROM THE WHITE HOUSE IS EXPECTED
The White House has not yet made an official statement on the matter. It remains unclear whether the posts were intentional. Additionally, it was noted that during the Trump administration, the White House's social media accounts had previously shared "meme" style content.
