The city's picture, which is drowned in concrete, has emerged with aerial images taken around Güngören, Bahçelievler, and Bağcılar.
The Earth Scientist and Earthquake Expert Prof. Dr. Naci Görür, who interpreted the images with no open and green spaces, said, "The more dense the building density in that city or district, the more likely there is to be destruction, death, and material damage. There is also a mistake in the understanding that allows this situation and accepts it. In the first place, such a city, such planning would not have existed. But it happened, such a mistake was made. If you ask what we will do now; the mayor of that district will investigate whether the building stock is earthquake-resistant or not, so that our people do not die."
During this research, those that are not earthquake-resistant will either be demolished or strengthened. After determining this, the job to be done will not be to abandon people to death, so you will demolish the buildings without mercy by hitting them with an excavator. Accordingly, a law will be enacted. There is no other way. If you say that you will build a house in the place you demolished, you will be wrong. Urban transformation is not just about renewing the building, it is about planning. It is to make all components that harm the city earthquake-resistant. What needs to be done is to focus on the 6 components I mentioned. In a very dense area, you will create a transformation area.
If you build 10 thousand houses in the transformation area, you will demolish 10 thousand problematic houses in that city. You will refresh it. You will turn it into a green area, a park. And you will say to the people who come out of there, "This is your house." Then the people will be satisfied. If you look down on the people, send them to distant places, the people will not want it. If you build earthquake-resistant houses in a nice place in the district, demolish those areas and turn them into green areas, no one will say anything. Even in the worst case, safety is important. Public interest is important. The state should be compassionate and understanding. Neither the citizen should run after profit, nor the administrations should run after profit," he said.
