A natural gas explosion occurred in a five-story apartment building located in the Çaycuma district of Zonguldak. In the explosion, the walls of the apartment were destroyed, and seven people were injured, three of them seriously.

An explosion occurred around 1:00 PM in Block D of the Disaster Houses in Velioğlu Neighborhood, Çaycuma district of Zonguldak. A fire broke out following the explosion in the apartment located on the 2nd floor of the 5-story building. Upon notification, a large number of teams, including 10 ambulances, 5 fire crews, and AFAD, were dispatched to the scene.

While the walls of the apartment where the explosion occurred collapsed, damage was also reported in the apartment across from it. The fire that broke out in the building was extinguished by the fire crews.
7 INJURED, 3 SERIOUSLY
In the disaster, 7 people were injured. Celal Pehlivan (40) and Ayşe Polat (49), who suffered burns on various parts of their bodies, were taken to Atatürk State Hospital. Sabahat Dikbaş (52), who was injured in the incident, was transferred to Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Hospital; while her husband Yaşar Dikbaş, daughter Songül Dikbaş (28), and Nebahat Topçu (55) and Veli Musluer (51), who were caught in the explosion on the stairs, were treated at Çaycuma State Hospital. It was reported that 3 of the injured were in serious condition.
EXPLOSION CAUSED BY NATURAL GAS
Meanwhile, teams conducting inspections in the building determined that the explosion in Celal Pehlivan's home was caused by natural gas. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
