TRNC Ministry of Health Infectious Diseases High Committee announced the decisions regarding the diagnosis and treatment processes for the Ebola virus. Samples for diagnosis will be sent to Turkey.
The Higher Committee for Infectious Diseases of the Ministry of Health of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus announced the decisions taken regarding the diagnosis and treatment processes for the Ebola virus.
The Higher Committee for Infectious Diseases of the Ministry of Health of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) made a statement regarding the Ebola virus, reporting the decisions taken for the diagnosis and treatment processes of the disease. In the committee's statement, it was emphasized that Ebola is a rare but life-threatening infectious viral infection, noting that it can be transmitted from infected animals and human body fluids. The statement indicated that the symptoms of the disease include fever, chills, shivering, headache and muscle aches, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and rash.
THE PUBLIC WILL BE FURTHER INFORMED IF ADDITIONAL MEASURES ARE TAKEN
In advanced stages, mucosal bleeding, septic shock, and multiple organ failure may develop, and the disease can result in death. The committee stated that it was decided to send samples taken for diagnosing the Ebola virus to the National Public Health Reference Laboratory of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey.
The TRNC Higher Committee for Infectious Diseases emphasized that it continues to closely monitor the statements and decisions of international health organizations regarding the issue, and noted that the public will be informed if a situation requiring additional measures arises.
