Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya, whose name was implicated in the fund fraud that victimized hundreds of thousands of people, announced that she had returned the entire amount exceeding 2 billion liras apart from the principal. Kaya, who also categorically denied claims that she was linked to the arrested Esenyurt Deputy Mayor Yusuf Ulutaş, stated that she had no connection to or reference regarding Ulutaş.
Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya, whose name was mentioned in the fund investigation and who resigned from her position as Deputy Chairperson of the AK Party, made striking statements to journalist Nagehan Alçı.
"I ONLY TOOK MY PRINCIPAL" Breaking her silence after the incident that caused a great public reaction, Kaya stated that there was serious misinformation regarding the process. Sharing details about the money at the center of the investigation, Kaya said, "There is a lot of misinformation. Except for my principal, I returned the entire amount exceeding 2 billion lira. I only took my principal; I returned the rest as it was."

"I HAVE NO CONNECTION WITH YUSUF ULUTAŞ" Kaya also responded to claims that she was connected to Esenyurt Deputy Mayor Yusuf Ulutaş, whose home was searched as part of a bribery investigation and who was arrested after millions of dollars were seized there, and denied the accusations. Emphasizing that she had no connection whatsoever with Ulutaş, Kaya said, "It has nothing to do with me. I had no reference during my term. If he entered the ministry after me, I have no knowledge about that either."
