Nilüfer Belediyespor volleyball player Pilar Marie Victoria Lopez was found dead at her home.

The Puerto Rican volleyball player Pilar Marie Victoria Lopez, who plays for Bursa representative Nilüfer Belediyespor in the Vodafone Sultanlar League, has passed away.

MISSING FROM TRAINING, FOUND DEAD AT HOME

Lopez, who resides in the club's house in Beşevler, was discovered dead at home when officials went to check on her after she did not attend the team training this morning.

PROSECUTOR TAKES ACTION

The prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into the incident that deeply saddened the sports community. The exact cause of death of the 29-year-old athlete will be determined after the forensic examination.

TRANSFERRED LAST SEASON

Pilar Marie Victoria Lopez, born in 1995, transferred to Nilüfer Belediyespor from France's Beziers Volley team last season. Lopez also played for the Puerto Rico National Team.
