The presidential crisis continues at Sivasspor. No presidential candidate emerged at the ordinary general assembly, held under the administration of the board of elders and postponed twice before, prolonging the uncertainty about the club's future.
Sivasspor was left under the administration of the Divan Council because no presidential candidate came forward at the ordinary general assembly held on May 19, 2026.
NO CANDIDATE AGAIN FOR SİVASSPOR PRESIDENCY
The general assembly, first postponed to June 13 and then to June 22 by the Divan Council to determine the club's new management, was held today at the Sivas Chamber of Commerce and Industry Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Divan President Ali Yavuz and members Kemal Çağlayan, Ali İzgi, and Cafer Kaplan. However, no candidate for the presidency of Sivasspor emerged at this congress as well. While no result was achieved due to the lack of candidates, it was learned that the divan committee will hold a meeting tomorrow with Sivas Governor Yılmaz Şimşek.
ALİ YAVUZ: ''WE COMPLETED THE PROCESS AS THE DIVAN''
Sivasspor Divan President Ali Yavuz, speaking at the general assembly, said, "We conducted the necessary meetings over the past month. We managed the process with our governor, our mayor, and many businesspeople. There were those who wanted to become presidential candidates. Either they could not form their management lists or they have not yet reached a decision due to their own work. The term 'trustee' is being used for Sivasspor. Such a thing is not the case. We have completed the process today. Starting tomorrow, we will meet with our governor and mayor to hand over Sivasspor to its new management."
Meanwhile, Sivas Governor Yılmaz Şimşek, Sivas Mayor Adem Uzun, the provincial protocol, and delegates attended the congress.
