In the Gürün district of Sivas, 5 animals were killed when a lightning bolt struck a herd of sheep grazing in a rural area.
5 SHEEP KILLED
The incident occurred in the countryside of Gökçeyazı village, part of the Gürün district. According to the information obtained, while herder Mesut Vezirhüyük had taken his sheep herd to the land for grazing, lightning suddenly struck the spot where the herd was located. As a result of this natural event, 5 sheep died at the scene, while the other animals scattered in panic.
VILLAGE HEADMAN INTERVENED IMMEDIATELY
The shepherd Mesut Vezirhüyük, who survived the incident without injury, immediately notified the villagers and asked for help. Following the call for help, Gökçeyazı Village Headman Mutlu Demir quickly went to the scene.
With the help of Headman Demir and the villagers, a rescue operation was carried out, and the sheep that had scattered in fear over a wide area were found one by one and gathered together. The surviving part of the herd was taken under control and safely brought to the village without any further danger. The fact that no loss of life occurred in the region was a source of consolation.
