As the war between the US-Israel and Iran continues into its 22nd day, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has delivered striking messages. Pezeshkian clearly stated that they do not seek conflict with neighboring countries, saying, "Iran has never been in pursuit of nuclear weapons." Furthermore, Pezeshkian announced, "We propose the establishment of a security structure composed of Islamic countries in the Middle East to create peace and tranquility in the region."
As tensions and the risk of conflict in the Middle East increase day by day, a notable "softening" message has come from Iran. While military movements and mutual escalations continue in the region, the Tehran administration has made statements emphasizing diplomacy and dialogue.
NOTABLE MESSAGE FROM IRAN UNDER THE SHADOW OF WAR
Iranian media shared a video message released by President Masoud Pezeshkian on the occasion of Nowruz. Pezeshkian highlighted the increasing uncertainties in the country and the region, emphasizing that differences should be set aside. Stating that Nowruz symbolizes a new beginning in Iranian culture, Pezeshkian expressed that this year, the celebration is needed more than ever.
Pezeshkian clearly stated that they do not want conflict with neighboring countries, saying, "Our prayer is that God helps us eliminate the problems that arise in our relations. Dear friends, we are ready to solve all problems with you."
NUCLEAR MESSAGE: WE HAVE NEVER BEEN IN SEARCH
Pezeshkian also addressed discussions regarding Iran's intentions to develop nuclear weapons, stating that no official in the country would take a step in that direction. He emphasized that Iran has never been in search of nuclear weapons and frequently mentioned that the Leader of the Revolution, Ali Khamenei, has declared nuclear weapons forbidden according to Islamic law.
CALL FOR REGIONAL SECURITY
The Iranian President also argued that regional countries need to establish a common security structure for lasting peace in the Middle East. Stating that a structure composed of Islamic countries could provide stability in the region, Pezeshkian called for cooperation for peace and tranquility.
While the possibility of conflict in the region continues to be discussed, these messages from Tehran are considered an important development indicating that the door to diplomacy is not completely closed. US-ISRAEL'S ATTACKS ON IRAN
While negotiations continue between Tehran and Washington, Israel and the US launched a military attack on Iran on February 28. Iran responded with attacks on targets it identified in some regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, where US bases are located, in addition to Israel.
In the US-Israel attacks, many high-ranking officials, including Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, were killed. According to Iranian officials, the death toll from the US-Israel attacks exceeded 1,348, and the number of injured surpassed 17,000.
