Upon receiving reports from citizens who found an object on the beach in the Ünye district of Ordu, teams that arrived at the scene determined that it was an unmanned maritime vehicle (UMV). While the area was secured, it was learned that after inspections, the maritime vehicle would be towed 2 miles offshore for destruction.
An unmanned marine vehicle (UMV) was found on the beach in the Ünye district of Ordu.
The incident occurred on the beach in the Yüceler neighborhood of the district. According to the information obtained, gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area upon the report of citizens who noticed an object on the beach.
CORDONED OFF FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SECURITY
Upon examination, the object was assessed to be an unmanned marine vehicle (UMV). While security measures were taken by gendarmerie teams in the area, it was cordoned off for environmental security.
IT WILL BE DISPOSED OF 2 MILES OFFSHORE
It was learned that after a detailed examination, the UMV would be disposed of approximately 2 miles offshore. The investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
