The MHP delegation visited the DEM Party for a holiday visit. DEM Party Co-Chair Öztürk Türkdoğan stated, "We expect the role of Mr. Öcalan, who is the most important actor and main addressee of this process, to be acknowledged in this process." Türkdoğan added, "Dear Demirtaş and Yüksekdağ should regain their freedoms. Our friends in the Gezi case, especially İmamoğlu and other mayors, can be tried without detention."
The MHP delegation visited the DEM Party Headquarters for a holiday greeting due to the Ramadan Bayram. The delegation, consisting of MHP Deputy Chairman Sadir Durmaz, Chief Advisor to the Chairman Esma Özdaşlı, and MYK Member Şahin Kartal, was welcomed by DEM Party Co-Chair Öztürk Türkdoğan, Mersin MP Ali Bozan, and PM Member Zeyno Bayramoğlu.
"I CELEBRATE BOTH OUR HOLIDAY AND NEVROZ"
Öztürk Türkdoğan from the DEM Party congratulated the MHP delegation on their holiday, stating, "As you know, today is also Nevroz. On this occasion, I celebrate both our holiday and our nevroz. May the holiday and nevroz of our peoples be blessed. Of course, I hope this holiday brings peace to our region," he said. Türkdoğan recalled that the Co-Chairs of the DEM Party and the MHP Chairman delivered important messages yesterday, and continued:
ÖCALAN'S REQUEST DREW ATTENTION
"As the DEM Party, we hope that the 'Peace and Democratic Society' process will progress with more concrete legal arrangements as a result of these messages. In fact, this has gone beyond a mere hope. It has become a serious expectation of our people. As you know, our Parliament has announced the commission report. There are important findings in the 6th and 7th sections of our report. We expect steps to be taken for these to be legalized as soon as possible. Of course, we also expect that the most important actor and main addressee of this process, Mr. Öcalan, will have his role acknowledged in this process. We believe that when a legal process begins and the law is enacted, the 'status' issue expressed by Mr. Bahçeli will also be resolved."
THEY ALSO MENTIONED DEMİRTAŞ AND İMAMOĞLU
Stating that very strong messages would be given today due to the Nevruz Bayram, Türkdoğan said, "I believe that the MHP also has things to say regarding the immediate release of our political prisoner friends. People should not be imprisoned for their thoughts or political views. Our dear Demirtaş and Yüksekdağ should regain their freedom. Our friends in the Gezi case, especially İmamoğlu and other mayors, should be tried without detention," he said.
Öztürk Türkdoğan from the DEM Party stated, "What is important for us is to extinguish this fire in our region as soon as possible, to establish a lasting peace environment in our country, and for comprehensive legal arrangements to be realized for this. As a party, we are ready. We hope that together with the MHP, we can take concrete steps before the next holiday," he said.
MHP'S DURMAZ: WE ARE ONE, TOGETHER, WE ARE A FAMILY
MHP Deputy Chairman Sadir Durmaz thanked the DEM Party delegation for their kind hospitality and congratulated them on their holiday and Nevruz Bayram. Durmaz noted, "Of course, as you mentioned, we are going through a process where we are struggling with very serious problems and difficulties in a very challenging geography. Our Chairman has given very important messages regarding the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process from the very beginning. The importance of developing our unity and brotherhood has been emphasized every time. We see concrete examples in our close geography of nations that are in a difficult situation due to a lack of unity and solidarity. Therefore, we attach great importance to our unity and the strengthening of our brotherhood. In this regard, the MHP has been the most consistent party from the past to the present.
There is a situation called 'uncommittable crime, state of impossibility.' Despite the 50-year-old terrorism problem in our country, Kurds and Turks have not given up on marriage with each other; these marriages have continued insistently; in other words, we have preferred kinship over enmity. There are about 8-10 million marriages. A new generation has emerged from this. If there are two children each, that equals 20 million, plus the parents, equals 40 million, which is Turkey. Uncommittable crime, state of impossibility... This situation makes it impossible for us to make another assessment. We are one, together, we are a family. We need to further strengthen this brotherhood.
"IT WILL COME TO THE AGENDA OF THE PARLIAMENT AFTER THE HOLIDAY"
Regarding the commission report, Durmaz stated, "We know that there are issues reflected in the reports of the commission in Parliament that you mentioned, and that there will be topics coming to the agenda of the Parliament for certain arrangements after the holiday."
