The CEO of the Saudi Arabian team Al-Hilal, Esteve Calzada, made a statement about the 26-year-old Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who has been one of the transfer targets for a while. Esteve Calzada said regarding the Osimhen transfer, "Our goal is to attract the biggest players. We are quite ambitious, but the player also needs to be willing in this matter, and the transfer must be suitable for both parties."
While the future of Victor Osimhen, who played on loan at Galatasaray in the 2024-2025 season and finished the season with a double cup, remains uncertain, Esteve Calzada, CEO of the Saudi Arabian team Al-Hilal, made statements about the Nigerian striker to BBC Sport.
'WE ARE NOT PRINTING MONEY HERE'
Esteve Calzada expressed that they will acquire players who genuinely want to join the team, stating, "Our goal is the biggest players. We are quite ambitious, but the player also needs to be willing in this regard, and the transfer must be suitable for both parties. The only thing we try to remind players and agents is this: Yes, we are in Saudi Arabia, but we are not printing money here."
'WE DO NOT WANT THOSE WHO COME FOR MONEY'
Continuing his remarks, Calzada said, "My role as CEO is to manage the club efficiently. This way, we have the largest possible budget to acquire the biggest players, but not at any cost. That’s why sometimes we withdraw from negotiations. Because we really want players who want to come, not just those who come for money," he stated.
