Ömer Korkmaz has been re-elected as the president of Konyaspor.

The current president of Konyaspor, Ömer Korkmaz, was re-elected as president of the Trendyol Super League team heading towards an extraordinary election. Korkmaz, who entered the election as the sole candidate, was unanimously re-elected to the presidency.

PRESIDENT KORKMAZ'S FIRST WORDS

Speaking at the general assembly, Korkmaz stated that they have been working with all their might to advance the club since the day they took office. Ömer Korkmaz explained that they aim to increase the club's revenue through sponsorship agreements, saying, "We have improved our capacity in our stadium. We opened the west lower VIP section to create financial resources for our club. We have just completed one of the periods with the highest number of season tickets sold in the club's history. We have not abandoned the principle of consultation and common sense. We will continue this. We have prioritized the youth academy. We have made investments in different areas. We know that the future lies in the football academy. Our facility, which is undergoing landscaping work, will be put into service soon. In the new term, the A team and the academy will be together," he said.

TRANSFER STATEMENT

In response to a question from delegates regarding transfers, Korkmaz stated that they would not make transfers without paying the players' salaries. Korkmaz explained that they had difficulty finding executives during the general assembly process, saying, "We were able to change four of our executives at the general assembly. We said, 'Let our friends who feel tired leave.' This time, we could not find more than four executives for the board of directors. We did not ask for very large amounts to join the management, but we could not gather people who would entrust that money," he said.

KONYASPOR'S DEBT IS 850 MILLION LIRA

Ömer Korkmaz, who was re-elected as president of Konyaspor for the second time, announced that the club's debt is around 850 million lira. The green-whites collected 20 points with 5 wins, 5 draws, and 8 losses in the 18 matches they played in the Trendyol Super League, placing them in 14th place.

HE HAD A CONTROVERSY WITH MOURINHO

On the other hand, Konyaspor's president Ömer Korkmaz had a controversy with Fenerbahçe's coach Jose Mourinho after the match they lost 3-2 in the 19th week of the Trendyol Super League. Korkmaz criticized the refereeing, stating in a post-match statement that they had penalties and cards that should have been given to their opponents, emphasizing that the events between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray negatively affected them. Mourinho, in a press conference, targeted Korkmaz, saying he needed to know football better.

Responding to the experienced coach, Ömer Korkmaz said, "Our expectations from Jose Mourinho as a country are not for him to speak in street language. Of course, we do not know football as well as they do. There is a common issue that the entire sports community agrees on, which is that Konyaspor's rights have been violated. I may not know football as well as him, but I will speak and take ownership of everything for my community," he stated.
