A FATHER AND HIS 2 DAUGHTERS LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE LANDSLIDE
In the landslide disaster that occurred at the Opet gas station on the Samsun-Ordu highway in the Toptepe neighborhood of Canik district, father Adem Kaya (35) and his children Açelya Mina Kaya (7) and Ayla Kaya (5) lost their lives under the rubble. The mother, Çiğdem Kaya (31), was rescued with injuries.
2 PEOPLE WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
Following the incident, a judicial and administrative investigation was initiated. Within the scope of the investigation, gas station manager K.Y. (62) and owner M.Z.G. (70) were taken into custody for the crime of "causing the death of multiple people by negligence." After their interrogations were completed at the Homicide Bureau of the Samsun Police Department, M.Z.D. and K.Y. were referred to the Samsun Courthouse today.
THE OWNER OF THE GAS STATION WAS ARRESTED
The gas station manager M.Z.D. was arrested by the court he was brought before. The station manager K.Y. was released under judicial control.
