The first hearing of the case regarding the murder of 15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who was stabbed to death at a flea market in Kadıköy, Istanbul, was held at the Anadolu Courthouse. COURT ADJOURNED

The case of Ahmet Minguzzi, which has locked Turkey's attention, has been adjourned to May 8. In his statement presented to the court, the prosecutor expressed that one of the minors involved in the crime was born in a hospital, while there was no hospital birth record for the other. Therefore, he requested age determination for both defendants. The judge will evaluate these requests during the break and announce his decision.

In the incident that occurred on Friday, January 24, 15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, the son of Italian chef Andrea Minguzzi and cellist Yasemin Akıncılar, was stabbed five times by B.B. during a shopping trip at the historic Tuesday market in Kadıköy. U.B., who was with him, kicked Minguzzi, who was left on the ground in a pool of blood. After fighting for his life for 14 days, Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi passed away in the hospital. The Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office prepared an indictment against the murder suspects for the crime of "deliberately killing a child," requesting a prison sentence of 18 to 24 years. The indictment prepared against the 18-year-old defendant for "deliberately killing a child" was accepted by the Istanbul Anadolu 2nd High Criminal Court for Children. The defendants are appearing before the judge today.
