Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that in operations targeting drug dealers in 76 provinces over the past two weeks, 1 ton and 444 kilograms of drugs and 2 million 376 thousand drug pills were seized. A total of 2,365 suspects were apprehended during the operations.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that operations against drug dealers were carried out in 76 provinces over the past two weeks. Sharing details of the operation on his official social media account, Minister Yerlikaya stated, "I want our esteemed nation to know that we do not give a chance to poison traffickers. We do not allow them to darken the future of our children, and we will not allow it."
DRUG OPERATION IN 76 PROVINCES
In his post, Yerlikaya used the following statements: "In coordination with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and the Narcotics Crimes Department of the General Directorate of Security; with the participation of provincial police departments; 3,547 teams, 8,867 personnel, 38 aircraft, and 72 narcotic detector dogs; operations were conducted in Istanbul, Izmir, Adana, Ankara, Gaziantep, Konya, Antalya, Bursa, Samsun, Balıkesir, Denizli, Şanlıurfa, Manisa, Diyarbakır, Mersin, Kocaeli, Kayseri, Batman, Tekirdağ, Malatya, Hatay, Sakarya, Bolu, Kahramanmaraş, Eskişehir, Çorum, Sivas, Trabzon, Muğla, Aksaray, Kırklareli, Uşak, Erzurum, Osmaniye, Van, Çanakkale, Mardin, Nevşehir, Elazığ, Niğde, Sinop, Zonguldak, Adıyaman, Edirne, Giresun, Kütahya, Afyonkarahisar, Ağrı, Düzce, Karaman, Rize, Aydın, Bingöl, Ardahan, Burdur, Tokat, Yozgat, Amasya, Bitlis, Çankırı, Erzincan, Karabük, Kırşehir, Isparta, Kars, Şırnak, Yalova, Ordu, Artvin, Bilecik, Hakkari, Kastamonu, Kırıkkale, Muş, Kilis, and Siirt. A LARGE NUMBER OF SUSPECTS ARRESTED
In operations conducted by the Istanbul Provincial Police Department; 365 kg of cocaine, 77.5 kg of methamphetamine, 27.5 kg of skunk, 22 kg of heroin, 11 kg of marijuana, 141 kg of chemical substances, and 805,200 drug pills were seized. 28 suspects were arrested for drug trafficking. In operations conducted by the Izmir Provincial Police Department; 102 kg of bonzai and 387,478 drug pills were seized. 12 suspects were arrested for drug trafficking. In operations conducted by the Hakkari Provincial Police Department; 102 kg of methamphetamine and 60.5 kg of heroin were seized. 2 suspects were arrested for drug trafficking. In operations conducted by the Şanlıurfa Provincial Police Department; 54 kg of methamphetamine was seized. 4 suspects were arrested for drug trafficking. In operations conducted by the Gaziantep Provincial Police Department; 53.5 kg of skunk was seized. 2 suspects were arrested for drug trafficking. In operations conducted by the Kırıkkale Provincial Police Department; 542.5 kg of methamphetamine was seized.
