The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the inflation figures for February. With the latest figures, the products that experienced the highest price increases and decreases in Turkey over the past month have also been identified. In February, the champion of price increases was ice cream, while the service that saw the largest price decrease was outpatient treatment services.

According to the inflation rates announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) for February, the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in February 2025 compared to the previous month was 2.27%, compared to the same month of the previous year was 39.05%, and the twelve-month averages were 53.83%.

While the inflation figures provide general price changes, these changes occurred differently across various product and service groups. With the announcement of the February inflation figures, the products with the highest price increases and decreases for that month were also revealed.

ICE CREAM BECAME THE CHAMPION OF PRICE INCREASES

According to the latest data; in February 2025, the product with the highest price increase was ice cream. It was followed by preschool education and primary education at 16.79%, secondary education at 15.76%, butter at 13.72%, railway and urban passenger transportation at 11.44%, electricity at 10.70%, and urban bus passenger transportation at 10.49%.

THE SERVICE WITH THE HIGHEST PRICE DECREASE WAS OUTPATIENT HEALTH SERVICES

According to TÜİK's data; in February, the prices of some products decreased. Among the products with decreased prices, outpatient treatment services (examination fees, examination co-payments, etc.) ranked first with a decrease of 23.29%. It was followed by products related to pets at 18.35%, air passenger transportation at 9.49%, children's clothing at 8.82%, women's clothing at 7.84%, fresh vegetables (excluding potatoes) at 7.69%, and health insurance at 7.66%.
