As part of the investigation initiated by the Ankara West Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the irregularities detected in the accounts of Etimesgut Municipality and its affiliate Etimkent A.Ş. during the Court of Accounts audits, 4 suspects were detained for the crime of 'Embezzlement'.
As part of the investigation initiated due to the irregularities detected during the regular audits of the 2025 accounts and transactions conducted by the Court of Accounts within the Etimesgut Municipality, 4 suspects were detained.
During the audits, irregularities were identified in the operations of the soup kitchen, food procurement and distribution of the municipality, as well as in the accounts of the municipal subsidiary Etimkent A.Ş. Following these findings, an investigation was launched by the Ankara West Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for the crime of embezzlement.
Within the scope of the investigation, simultaneous search and seizure operations were carried out on March 30, 2026, at the residences and workplaces of the suspects, in accordance with the search warrants obtained from the Ankara West Peace Criminal Court regarding M.Ç., General Manager of Etimkent A.Ş., A.C., Director of Social Assistance Affairs of Etimesgut Municipality, S.K., who served as a trustee in the same directorate, and H.B., responsible for the cash of Etimkent A.Ş.
As a result of the operation, all suspects were captured and detained, while it was learned that the investigation is being conducted in a multifaceted and meticulous manner.
STATEMENT FROM ANKARA CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
The following statement was made by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office:
"During the regular audits of the 2025 accounts and transactions conducted by the Court of Accounts at the Etimesgut Municipality, based on the reports prepared regarding the irregularities identified in the operations of the Etimesgut Municipality soup kitchen, food procurement and distribution, and the account information of Etimkent A.Ş., an investigation was initiated by our Ankara West Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for the crime of embezzlement; simultaneous search and seizure operations were conducted on March 30, 2026, at the residences and workplaces of the suspects, including M.Ç., General Manager of Etimkent A.Ş., A.C., Director of Social Assistance Affairs of Etimesgut Municipality, S.K., Trustee of the Social Assistance Affairs Directorate of Etimesgut Municipality, and H.B., responsible personnel for the cash of Etimkent A.Ş., based on the search warrants obtained from the Ankara West Peace Criminal Court and the instructions given by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and all suspects were captured and detained."
