In the operation conducted as part of the 'bribery' investigation against the Adalar Municipality, detention orders were issued for 47 individuals. In simultaneous operations across 4 provinces centered in Istanbul, 41 suspects, including Adalar Mayor Ali Ercan Akpolat, were detained. Meanwhile, at the same hours, in an operation targeting the Silifke Municipality in Mersin, proceedings were initiated against numerous individuals, including Mayor Mustafa Turgut.
An operation was conducted against the Adalar Municipality by the Istanbul Anatolian Republic Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. In the investigation, it was alleged that "irregularities were made" in the repair processes of historical monument status buildings in Adalar, "corruption occurred in license procedures," and "exorbitant license fines" were imposed on some individuals and businesses.
37 DETAINEES INCLUDING THE MAYOR
It was learned that the Mayor Ali Ercan Akpolat and the suspects with him were charged with "establishing and managing a criminal organization," "bribery," and "extortion" in the case file.
Within the scope of the investigation, detention orders were issued for 41 people, and 37 people, including Adalar Mayor Ali Ercan Akpolat, were taken into custody.
