The advance of opposition armed groups in Syria continues. Groups led by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which has captured the city center of Hama and is moving towards Damascus, have reached the city of Homs. Hasan Abdulgani, the commander of the Military Operations Administration, made his final call to the regime forces in Homs and stated that the city would soon be captured. The provincial center of Daraa, located on the Jordanian border, has also come under the control of opposition groups. Egypt and Jordan have invited Assad to leave Syria and establish a government in exile.
The advance of opposition armed groups in Syria continues. Most recently, the regime-opposing groups led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which clashed with the Syrian regime forces and took control of the city center of Hama, have reached the inner parts of the city of Homs, which is described as the last stronghold before the capital, Damascus. The provincial center of Daraa, located on the Jordanian border, has also come under the control of the opposition groups.
"THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO LEAVE"
The Commander of the Military Operations Administration of the opposition groups, Hasan Abdulgani, addressed the regime forces in Homs. Abdulgani stated that the city would soon be captured, saying, "We are making our final call to the regime forces from here. This is your last chance to leave."
THEY CAPTURED REGIME SOLDIERS
While this call was made to the regime elements in Homs, the opposition forces, reaching Suwayda, where the Druze population is dense, captured the village of Havayya and took regime soldiers as prisoners.
A CALL FROM EGYPT AND JORDAN
Meanwhile, a direct call came to Bashar al-Assad from Egypt and Jordan. According to the U.S.-based Wall Street Journal, Cairo and Amman invited Assad to leave Syria and establish a government in exile.
REQUESTS FOR WEAPONS AND INTELLIGENCE ASSISTANCE WERE REJECTED
The report also claimed that Assad had requested weapons and intelligence assistance from countries including the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq, but that these requests have been rejected so far.
DEVELOPMENTS IN SYRIA
On November 27, clashes began between the Assad regime forces and regime-opposing armed groups in the western countryside of Aleppo in northern Syria. On November 30, regime-opposing groups took control of most of the center of Aleppo from regime forces and established dominance throughout Idlib on the same day. After intense clashes, the groups captured the city center of Hama from regime forces on December 5. In the Freedom Dawn Operation launched by the Syrian National Army against the terrorist organization PKK/YPG in the rural areas of Aleppo on December 1, the district center of Tal Rifaat was liberated from terrorism.
