An investigation has been launched following the claim that Fenerbahçe football player Bright Osayi Samuel's watch was stolen by his girlfriend from his home in Üsküdar.
FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE ALLEGATION OF THEFT
After returning from abroad, Samuel filed a complaint claiming that his girlfriend Ayşenur O. stole his watch when he could not find it at his home in Üsküdar. Following the complaint, the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation for the crime of "theft."
DID NOT ACCEPT THE ALLEGATIONS
Ayşenur O., who was taken as a suspect, stated that they had been friends for about 3-4 months and that they went to an entertainment center in Şişli together on April 27. Stating that Osayi Samuel was having fun with his friends, Ayşenur O. said, "I was just with him; it was very crowded around us. Later, we went together to the complainant's residence in Üsküdar to pick up his suitcases because he was going back to England. We stayed at the complainant's residence for about 20-25 minutes. We went together to Sabiha Gökçen Airport."
Ayşenur O. stated that Samuel had left the country and that she had not seen him afterward, saying, "About 1-1.5 months after that date, he sent me a message via WhatsApp, claiming that I stole his watch when we went to his residence. In response, I told him, 'If you have such an allegation, let's go to the official authorities together. I did not steal your watch. In fact, I didn't even see your watch.' I do not accept the accusations against me; I am innocent."
"NO ONE ENTERED MY RESIDENCE AFTER THAT DATE"
The complainant Samuel, in his statement given through his lawyer, expressed that they met Ayşenur O. at the entertainment venue and had fun together. He stated that the watch in question was on his wrist while they were having fun at the venue, and he explained that they went to his home with the suspect Ayşenur O., and he left the country on the same day.
When he returned to Turkey, he noted that he realized the watch was not at his home in the first week of May, stating, "I think the watch in question was stolen by Ayşenur O., who came to my residence because no one entered my residence after that date. It is evident in the camera footage that I last wore this watch on that day and came home."
