The trial of Ozan Güven, who was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Deniz Bulutsuz, concluded last week. The actor received a prison sentence of 2 years and 3 months for the charge of "intentional injury" and was seen for the first time after the verdict. Responding to Bulutsuz's statement, "I am waiting for the day he goes to prison," Güven said, "I don't care." His indifferent attitude surprised many.
The case opened regarding the incident between actor Ozan Güven and his ex-girlfriend Deniz Bulutsuz in 2020 was concluded last week. In the trial held at the Istanbul 58th Criminal Court of First Instance, Güven was sentenced to 2 years and 3 months in prison for the crime of "intentional injury." He was acquitted of the other charges of "deprivation of liberty by force, threat, or deceit" and "defamation." Deniz Bulutsuz was also acquitted of the charge of "simple injury."
THE PARTIES DID NOT ATTEND THE VERDICT HEARING
Neither Ozan Güven nor Deniz Bulutsuz attended the verdict hearing of the case opened after the incident that occurred on June 13, 2020. The lawyers of both parties were present in the courtroom. In the incident that is the subject of the case, both parties had filed complaints against each other, and the reconciliation process had failed. Therefore, the prosecution had prepared two separate indictments.
"I AM ONLY CONCERNED WITH THE COURT"
After the verdict, Ozan Güven, who had remained silent for a long time, was seen for the first time at an event he attended the other day. Responding to questions from the press regarding the prison sentence, the actor avoided making comments and stated, "I do not want to talk about the case; the judicial process is ongoing. If there is an important development, we will make a statement." When reminded of his ex-girlfriend Deniz Bulutsuz's words, "I am waiting for the day he goes to prison," he gave a clear response, saying, "I am not concerned with that matter at all. I am only concerned with the court."
Ozan Güven, who appeared before the cameras for the first time after the sentence, drew attention with his demeanor, showing neither regret nor making any emotional statements regarding the case.
