FLOOD WATERS SWEPT VEHICLES INTO THE SEA
According to reports from the Australian press, a severe storm and heavy rainfall that hit the southwest of the state caused flooding. Images of numerous parked vehicles being swept into the sea and submerged due to flash floods along the Great Ocean Road were shared on social media.
EMERGENCY WARNING ISSUED
Due to the flash flooding affecting the tourist area of Wye River, hundreds of people were evacuated from campgrounds. An emergency warning was issued for residents living in Wye River, Kennett River, Cumberland River, and Lorne. In the Mount Cowley area, the highest rainfall amount since 2000 was recorded in the last 7 hours.
