After the announcement of the increase rates by TÜİK, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel drew attention to the inadequacy of retirement pensions and called for a legal increase in base salaries and a uniform raise. Özel stated, "It is unacceptable for a retirement pension to be below the minimum wage," addressing the government: "Let's rectify this shame."
The announcement of the December inflation figures for 2025 by TÜİK has revealed the salary increase rates for civil servants and retirees. Accordingly, SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will receive a 12.19% increase, while civil servants and civil servant retirees will receive an 18.60% increase.

While the developments have resonated widely in the public, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made striking statements regarding the economic agenda during his party's group meeting. It is essential to increase base salaries through law." The CHP leader reiterated the call for a flat increase, stating, "It is unacceptable for a retirement pension to be below the minimum wage."

Özel emphasized the need to improve the income of retirees, addressing the government and all political parties. The CHP leader said, "As the Republican People's Party, we are here. Let's clean up this shame this week."
