The Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, spoke about the joint report that the Terror-Free Turkey Commission will present to the Parliament. Kurtulmuş stated, "We have reached a final point in the report. When you look at the first report, there seems to be no ground for consensus among the parties, but through these meetings, issues that can be reconciled have been identified. The main frameworks have been revealed."

The Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Kurtulmuş, met with the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Nurlanbek Turgunbek Uulu. After the meeting between the two and their delegations, a joint press conference was held.

"WE HAD PRODUCTIVE DISCUSSIONS IN THE DELEGATION MEETINGS"

Emphasizing the importance of Nurlanbek Turgunbek Uulu's first visit to Turkey after being elected as the Speaker of the Assembly, Speaker Kurtulmuş stated, "In the inter-delegation meetings we just held, we had very productive discussions. Last year, we made an official visit to Kyrgyzstan with our friends. Through this visit, a reciprocal visit is being made. We are closely following the increasingly developing relations between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan in recent years, and we are pleased to see this reflected in the relations between our Parliaments. God willing, we are determined to develop these relations even further. During our visit to Kyrgyzstan last year, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Parliaments of the two countries. God willing, we will be very pleased to host the Turkey Friendship Group that has been established in Kyrgyzstan in Turkey. As two important countries of the Turkic world, Turkey and Kyrgyzstan have entered a remarkably close working period both within the framework of the Turkic States Organization and within the framework of TÜRKPA, which is the common assembly of our Parliaments. For a long time, we have been diligently continuing our efforts in the presence of these two important international organizations of the Turkic world," he said.

"WE MUST MOVE FORWARD IN A MUCH STRONGER WAY"

Stating that the Turkic world is a candidate to become one of the most important centers of world politics in the coming periods, Kurtulmuş said, "The Turkic world, which is located in the most strategic regions from Central Asia to the heart of Europe, is one of the world's notable centers with its rich underground and above-ground resources and a population of nearly 300 million, covering an area of 4.5 million square kilometers. Regardless of how the balances develop in the future, it is evident that a new political formation with multiple sides and centers will emerge in the world. Therefore, we say that the Turkic world, which has such a great potential, must make the best use of this opportunity, develop its collaborations in an extraordinarily strong way, and move forward much more powerfully by utilizing all the strategic and geostrategic opportunities of this geography," he said.

"IF WE WANT, IF WE STAND TOGETHER, WE CAN ACHIEVE ALL OUR GOALS"

Following Kurtulmuş, the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Nurlanbek Turgunbek Uulu, stated, "To achieve the goals set in today's meetings, it is necessary to revitalize the work of not only the presidents but also the members of parliament and friendship groups. I think this is important. If we want, if we stand together, we can achieve all our goals," he expressed.

"A FINAL POINT HAS BEEN REACHED IN THE REPORT"

After the press conference of the two, Speaker Kurtulmuş answered questions from the press members. In response to a question about the joint report of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission, Kurtulmuş said, "When we look at the initial reports, there doesn't seem to be an easy ground for consensus among the parties. With these meetings, the issues to be reconciled were identified, and roughly the main framework has been established. With extraordinarily disciplined work, we have reached a final point. As of last night, we sent the draft text we have been working on to these five friends personally. Probably in the coming days, the commission will gather all 50 of our parliamentary friends again to negotiate, conduct the voting, and we will complete our duty as a commission and present our report to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey," he said.

"ONCE THE REPORT IS FINALIZED, IT IS BEST TO SHARE IT WITH THE PUBLIC"

In response to a question from a press member regarding the discussions on the "right to hope," Kurtulmuş stated, "It is best to share with the public what the issues discussed in the commission report are after the report is finalized. Therefore, you cannot get a single word from me regarding the content. Secondly, the commission's duty is to prepare this report, complete its work, and present the report to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. This commission is not a legislative commission. This commission is neither preparing laws nor preparing a Constitution. I have stated this as a common tendency from the beginning. At the point where the commission has come with such extensive hearings and long discussions, we need to establish the framework of how we approach the issue politically, and of course, this framework should include the legal regulations we foresee to be prepared, and share this framework with the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. The commission's duty is clear. Within the principles related to the working procedures and principles of the commission that we accepted in the first meeting, the commission has so far fulfilled its duty with great maturity and sacrifice. There is very little left; after voting on the report, the commission's duty will also end," he said.
