Serdar C., who was trying to cross the road in Kayseri, lost his life after being hit by a car. The fleeing driver's vehicle was found approximately 2 kilometers from the accident site. The driver, S.Ö., surrendered to the police a short time later.
The accident occurred yesterday evening on Kadir Has Boulevard in Bahçelievler neighborhood, Melikgazi district. The vehicle with license plate 38 AHS 929, driven by S.Ö., hit Serdar C., who was trying to cross the road, and fled. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon reports from bystanders. After medical intervention, Serdar C. was taken to Kayseri City Hospital in serious condition but could not be saved despite all efforts by doctors.
CAR DRIVER TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
Police teams investigating the accident scene launched efforts to apprehend S.Ö. Reviewing security cameras in the area, the teams found S.Ö.'s car parked in front of his apartment building, about 2 kilometers from the accident site. S.Ö. and a person who was a passenger in the vehicle surrendered by calling the police shortly after. The suspects were taken into custody and brought to the police station.
