A major explosion occurred at an LPG station in Gangwon province, South Korea, due to a gas leak. The surrounding buildings and vehicles were engulfed in flames in the fire that broke out after the explosion.
5 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE FIRE
In a statement by the Gangwon fire department, it was stated that 5 people were injured in the incident that occurred on January 1st at around 20:41. It was later learned that these 5 people tragically lost their lives in the fire.
The flames were brought under control by the fire brigade teams that arrived at the scene in approximately 3 hours. The explosion and fire caused damage to 14 buildings in the area, and it was reported that at least 25 people were evacuated.
