According to the Wall Street Journal, the U.S. is planning a new arms sale to Israel that includes 30 Apache helicopters and more than 3,000 armored personnel carriers, totaling $6 billion. It has been noted that the delivery may take 2-3 years, and the deal will be financed through the U.S. military aid program. The Trump administration is seeking congressional approval to proceed with the arms sale.
As Israel continues its inhumane and illegal attacks on Gaza, it has been reported that a new arms sale plan has emerged from Washington. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) claimed that the U.S. plans to sell approximately $6 billion (about 248 billion TL) worth of new weapons to Israel.
WHAT'S IN THE ARMS SALE PACKAGE?
According to sources familiar with the matter and documents obtained by WSJ, the U.S. plans to sell Israel 30 AH-64 Apache attack helicopters worth $3.8 billion and 3,250 infantry armored vehicles worth $1.9 billion.
DELIVERIES MAY TAKE 2-3 YEARS
It is stated that the delivery of the mentioned weapons will take at least 2-3 years, and the sale will be financed under the U.S. foreign military aid program.
It is reported that the sales plan will be presented to Congress after passing the approval of the leaders of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and an official announcement will be made to the public.
IF THE SALE OCCURS, ISRAEL WILL DOUBLE ITS FLEET
Furthermore, it was emphasized that the arms sale plan was communicated to congressional leaders about a month before Israel's attack on Hamas leaders in Qatar on September 9.
Additionally, if the sale goes through, it is noted that Israel's current Apache fleet will nearly double.
