In an operation organized in 6 provinces centered in Kayseri, simultaneous raids were conducted against suspects who used mobile lines with unknown real users to commit 'internet modem fraud' and victimized 17,156 people. During the operation, 53 suspects were detained, and 31 people were arrested.

A simultaneous operation was carried out in 6 provinces by the Kayseri Provincial Police Department against suspects identified as committing 'internet modem fraud' by using mobile lines with unknown real users to citizens who wanted to obtain internet service, and victimizing 17,156 citizens across the country.

Under the coordination of the Kayseri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 19 suspects were placed under technical surveillance by the Provincial Police Department regarding the crime of qualified fraud. It was determined that the suspects created copies of internet service websites in the country and committed 'internet modem fraud' against citizens seeking internet service using mobile lines with unknown real users. It was estimated that a total of 17,156 citizens were victimized nationwide, the total transaction volume in bank accounts was 757,564,454.52 Turkish Lira, and they also caused a total loss of 1,113,530 Turkish Lira to 204 citizens in Kayseri.

53 PERSONS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

A simultaneous operation was carried out against individuals involved in the fraud, including those who committed and managed the crime, as well as those who procured mobile lines for use in the crime, with 43 suspects in Ankara, 6 in Kocaeli, 1 in Istanbul, 1 in Bursa, 1 in Antalya, and 1 in Mersin. Search and seizure operations were conducted at the residences of the suspects, resulting in the apprehension and custody of 53 individuals. After their processing at the police station, 31 of the suspects were arrested and sent to prison after being brought before the courthouse.
