After the 4-month inflation data announced by TÜİK, civil servants and retired civil servants have already earned a 10.51% raise. While it is stated that the total raise to be applied in July could reach 12.86%, new calculations regarding the salaries of police officers, teachers, nurses, and doctors have also emerged.

Following the latest inflation data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), calculations regarding the raise rates for millions of civil servants and retired civil servants in July have been reshaped. After the announced 4-month inflation data, it was stated that civil servants have already earned a raise of 10.51 percent.

APRIL INFLATION WAS 4.18 PERCENT

According to TÜİK data:

  • January inflation: 4.84 percent
  • February inflation: 2.96 percent
  • March inflation: 1.94 percent
  • April inflation: 4.18 percent

While annual inflation rose to 32.37 percent, it reached the highest level in the last 6 months.

CIVIL SERVANT AND RETIREE RAISE BEGINS TO CLARIFY

In line with the announced data:

  • For SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees, the 4-month raise rate is 14.64 percent
  • For civil servants and retired civil servants, the raise rate calculated is 10.51 percent

The exact raise rate for civil servant salaries will be clarified on July 3, when the June inflation data is announced.

LOWEST CIVIL SERVANT SALARY MAY EXCEED 69 THOUSAND TL

According to calculations:

  • The 6-month inflation difference is 5.48 percent
  • The collective agreement raise is 7 percent
  • The total cumulative raise rate could be 12.86 percent

In this case, the lowest civil servant salary, currently 61,890 TL, will rise to approximately 69,843 TL. The lowest retired civil servant salary is expected to rise to 31,341 TL.

HOW MUCH WILL POLICE, TEACHER, AND DOCTOR SALARIES BE?

According to the calculations, the possible new salaries for some professional groups are as follows:

  • Police officer: from 81,617 TL to 90,196 TL
  • Teacher: from 73,368 TL to 81,079 TL
  • Specialist teacher: from 81,219 TL to 89,756 TL
  • Nurse: from 74,770 TL to 82,628 TL
  • Engineer: from 96,211 TL to 106,324 TL
  • Professor: from 135,089 TL to 149,289 TL
  • Specialist doctor: from 150,426 TL to 166,234 TL
  • Chief inspector: from 89,214 TL to 98,592 TL

“INTEREST AND INFLATION WILL BE DECISIVE”

Economists state that the May and June inflation data will be decisive in the final raise rate to be determined in July. The inflation difference, in addition to the collective agreement raise, will be directly reflected in the salaries of civil servants and retired civil servants.
