CHP Spokesperson Zeynel Emre stated that they will bring to the Party Assembly's agenda the referral of CHP Gaziantep Deputy Hasan Öztürkmen to disciplinary proceedings with a request for definitive expulsion, after Öztürkmen made a statement saying 'If the judiciary renders a decision of absolute nullity, it must be respected' and shared Kılıçdaroğlu's call for purification.

The Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting of the CHP, originally planned for Monday under normal circumstances, was moved forward following yesterday's developments. The party leadership decided to hold the meeting today in line with the evolving political agenda.

KILIÇDAROĞLU'S "PURIFICATION" VIDEO WAS ON THE AGENDA

The main agenda item of the board, chaired by Özgür Özel and referred to as the party's "A-Team," was the video shared by former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on his social media accounts yesterday. The "purification" call made by Kılıçdaroğlu in the video and its implications within the party were discussed in detail during the meeting.

Additionally, the meeting addressed Kılıçdaroğlu's statements as well as the party's current political strategies.

EXPULSION DEMAND FOR ÖZTÜRKMEN

Following the meeting, CHP Party Spokesperson Zeynel Emre appeared before the cameras and announced that an 'expulsion' demand had been made for CHP Gaziantep Deputy Hasan Öztürkmen, whose 'absolute nullity' statement had drawn reactions.

"THE JUDICIARY'S NULLITY DECISION MUST BE RESPECTED" HE HAD SAID

Speaking at a press conference in the Turkish Parliament, CHP Gaziantep Deputy Hasan Öztürkmen had stated the following regarding the case concerning the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention held in November 2023:

"Absolute nullity is not a matter for me or my other colleagues. It is a matter for the judiciary; whatever the judiciary decides. As a party that founded the state, we believe that the judiciary, one of the three main branches constituting state power, must be respected. Therefore, the issue of nullity is a matter for the judiciary. I think whatever the judiciary decides should be respected."

HE ALSO SHARED KILIÇDAROĞLU'S VIDEO

Regarding the video shared by former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on his social media account, Öztürkmen used the expression: "I am one of the deputies who also shared Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu's video. There is no need to say anything further."
