Surprising results emerged in the latest general election survey conducted by ORC Research in Ankara between July 17-20, 2026. In the hometown of Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, who is being considered as a presidential candidate, the AK Party ranked first with 34.3% of the vote, while the CHP, which had won the previous local election, came in second with 31.1%.

ELECTION BALANCE HAS CHANGED IN THE CAPITAL
ORC Research Company conducted the "Ankara Political Trends Survey" with 1,180 participants across Ankara between July 17-20, 2026. In the survey conducted using the Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) method, Ankara voters were asked, "If a general election were held this Sunday, which political party would you vote for in Ankara?"
AK PARTY LEADS BY 3 POINTS
The CHP, which achieved a great victory with Mansur Yavaş in the last local elections, lost its position as the leading party in the capital this time. While 34.3% of the survey participants chose the AK Party, the CHP remained in second place with 31.1% of the vote.
