In the investigation into the murder of 77-year-old Faize Karaca, who was found with her throat slit in Bursa, a chilling truth has emerged. It was determined that the murder was committed by a neighbor who had been in contact with the family for years, and the stolen gold was recovered in an operation.
FOUND LYING IN A POOL OF BLOOD
The incident occurred on July 1 at around 18:00 on the 3rd floor of Selvi Apartment on Ataturk Street in Güzelyalı Neighborhood. A.K., who was wheelchair-bound, allegedly went to the balcony of the house and asked neighbors for help. Those who heard A.K.'s call for help reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. Teams entering the house found A.K.'s wife, Faize Karaca, lying on the floor in a pool of blood in the bedroom. Medical teams determined that Karaca had died and that there were cut marks on her throat caused by a sharp object. Karaca's body was taken to the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy after the prosecutor's investigation.
BLOODY CLOTHES FOUND IN HER HOME
Within the scope of the investigation launched by the Mudanya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch determined that the suspect who killed Karaca was her neighbor Şengül Demir, with whom the family had socialized. During a search of Şengül Demir's home, where a photo she had previously taken with the murdered Faize Karaca was found, the bloody clothes she wore during the murder were discovered.
"I WENT BLIND, I DON'T REALIZE WHAT I DID"
It was learned that Şengül Demir, who confessed to her crime and was found to have taken 5 gold bracelets and a necklace set from Faize Karaca's body and home and hidden them at a friend's house, claimed in her statement to the police that an argument broke out between her and the victim, saying, "I went blind. I don't realize what I did."
The suspect, whose gold was seized at the address where it was hidden, was arrested by the court she was brought to and sent to prison.
