President Erdoğan met with Azerbaijani President Aliyev during his visit to China for the 25th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. In the meeting between the two leaders, bilateral relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan, as well as regional and global issues, were discussed. In the meeting, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov were also present. A statement was made by the Presidency's Communications Directorate regarding Erdoğan's meeting with Azerbaijani President Aliyev in the People's Republic of China for the 25th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
REGIONAL AND GLOBAL ISSUES DISCUSSED
Accordingly, in the meeting, bilateral relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan, as well as regional and global issues, were discussed. President Erdoğan stated that it is important for Turkey and Azerbaijan to shape their regional development initiatives in coordination in the upcoming period.
Erdoğan said that Turkey and Azerbaijan will continue to take steps to develop cooperation in many areas, especially in energy and transportation. President Erdoğan expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and noted that Turkey will continue to contribute to the process.
