President Erdoğan sent a video message to the "STRATCOM Summit 2026" program held in Istanbul. President Erdoğan stated, "The international system established by the victors after World War II is experiencing a significant legitimacy crisis in almost every area."
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent a video message at the International Strategic Communication Summit organized by the Presidency of Communications.
Highlights from President Erdoğan's speech:
Welcome to all our guests who honored the program from various countries around the world, as well as from Turkey, to Istanbul, the meeting point of continents, cultures, and hearts. I hope this important summit, organized under the theme of rupture in the international system, crises, narratives, and the search for order, will be a blessing for all of us.
I wish that the panels and sessions, which will be organized over two days on a wide range of topics from leadership diplomacy to digital transformation, from conflict resolution to global climate governance, and from migration and social policies to crisis management, will bring beneficial results for all humanity. I would like to express my gratitude in advance to the participants for their valuable contributions to the summit with their ideas, observations, proposals, and evaluations. I also congratulate our Presidency of Communications for successfully organizing this event, which expands its framework, content, and impact every year.
Valued guests, the international system established by the victors after World War II is experiencing a significant legitimacy crisis in almost every field. The institutions, rules, and values that constitute the foundation of the system are losing their function day by day. We are going through a challenging period where issues are attempted to be resolved with weapons instead of dialogue, and where genocides, wars, and crises are escalating. It is more important than ever to put an end to the tragedies that break our hearts, like those in Gaza, and to restore peace, tranquility, and stability in our region and around the world.
While the truth is as clear as day, we must strengthen communication and cooperation mechanisms today to prevent the emergence of new and false narratives designed to distort the facts. At this point, it is inevitable for international actors, from states and governments to academics, civil society, and think tanks, to take more initiative and be more active. As Turkey, we are determined to continue our principled, resolute, and peace-focused stance that centers on humanitarian values and justice, and to mobilize all our resources for the reconstruction of peace and security not only in our region but throughout the world. I say may God be our helper and supporter.
With these thoughts, I wish that the International Strategic Communication Summit 2026 will once again be a blessing. I thank the participants who attended the summit and greet you with love and respect. Thank you, be well, and stay healthy.
