"Prison sentence decision in the case of the attack on Ali Koç."

In the 2nd week of the Super League, an attack was carried out against Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç during the Göztepe-Fenerbahçe match.

During the halftime of the match, Ali Koç went to the away stand to get information about the situation of Fenerbahçe fans who could not enter the stadium, and while returning, he was exposed to foreign objects thrown from the Göztepe stands and was pushed by Göztepe manager Fatih Özkan.

As a result of this intervention, Ali Koç fell to the ground; however, he did not suffer any serious injuries.

It was stated that the person who carried out the attack was not an official manager at Göztepe, but was only present as a staff member. After the incident, the suspect who was taken into custody was given house arrest.

7 MONTHS AND 15 DAYS OF IMPRISONMENT WAS GIVEN

A new development has occurred regarding the incident. According to the news on Odatv; Fatih Özkan, who carried out the attack from behind, was sentenced to 7 months and 15 days in prison by the İzmir 3rd Criminal Court of First Instance.

Since the court could not conclude that the said attacker would "not commit a crime again," his prison sentence was not postponed and was not converted into a fine.
