Russia is expanding the trustee practices against Western companies. With a decree signed by President Vladimir Putin, the management of the Russian assets of Poland-based Canpack and Denmark-based Rockwool has been temporarily transferred to local companies.
A receiver has been appointed for the management of the assets of Canpack and Rockwool companies operating in Russia. The decision came into effect with a decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
INTERIM MANAGEMENT FOR CANPACK AND ROCKWOOL
According to the decree, the assets of Poland-based Canpack and Denmark-based Rockwool in Russia will be temporarily transferred to the management of local companies. It has been reported that the operations of these companies will continue through receivers during this period.
Previously, receivers had also been appointed for the assets of Western companies such as Danone, Carlsberg, and Fortum in Russia.
Russian officials argue that the decisions taken are in response to the "aggressive and hostile" attitudes of Western countries towards Russian assets.
