Peskov indicated that the Russian delegation was present at the meeting regarding the Istanbul negotiations, stating that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergey Shoygu, Chief of the General Staff of Russia Valeriy Gerasimov, Director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) Aleksandr Bortnikov, and Commander of the Russian National Guard Viktor Zolotov also attended the meeting.
MEDINSKIY WILL CHAIR THE DELEGATION
Putin had approved the names that will represent Russia in the negotiations with Ukraine to be held today in Istanbul, hosted by Turkey. Accordingly, Vladimir Medinskiy, Putin's Advisor, will chair the Russian delegation.
The delegation will include Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, Head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff Igor Kostyukov, and Deputy Defense Minister Aleksandr Fomin. The list of experts in the delegation includes Deputy Head of the Information Department of the General Staff of Russia Aleksandr Zorin, Deputy Head of the Humanitarian State Policy Department of the Presidency Yevgeniya Podobreyevskaya, as well as Director of the Second Department of the Commonwealth of Independent States of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aleksandr Polishchuk and Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of International Military Cooperation of the Ministry of Defense Vladimir Shevtsov. Medinskiy had also chaired the Russian delegation in the negotiations in 2022.
