As Turkey is affected by cold and rainy weather, a decision has been made to suspend education in many cities. Education has been suspended in Tunceli throughout the city, in Kahramanmaraş in the districts of Andırın, Çağlayancerit, Elbistan, Ekinözü, Göksun, and Nurhak, in Batman in the district of Sason, in Ordu in the districts of Akkuş, Aybastı, Çamaş, Çatalpınar, Çaybaşı, Gölköy, Gürgentepe, İkizce, Kabataş, Korgan, Kumru, Mesudiye, and Ünye, and in the district of Vize in Kırklareli.
Intense snowfall, cold weather, and icing that continue to have an impact in Turkey have led to news of school closures.
HERE ARE THE PROVINCES WHERE EDUCATION HAS BEEN SUSPENDED
According to the weather report from the Meteorology, while snowfall continues in many provinces, education has been suspended in some cities on Tuesday, January 13.
TUNCELI
In Tunceli, it was announced that education was suspended for 2 days yesterday due to adverse weather conditions. The decision to suspend education taken by the Tunceli Governorship will continue on Tuesday, January 13.
KAHRAMANMARAŞ
Kahramanmaraş Provincial Directorate of National Education reported that education has been suspended for 1 day in some districts due to the expected adverse weather conditions. The statement indicated that education would continue throughout the province on Tuesday, January 13, but schools in some regions have been closed due to adverse weather conditions.
In this context, it was announced that education has been suspended in all schools in the districts of Andırın, Çağlayancerit, Elbistan, Ekinözü, Göksun, and Nurhak. The statement further noted that schools would be closed on Tuesday in Murat Çakıroğlu Primary and Secondary School in Türkoğlu district, as well as in Baydemirli, Çatmayayl, Ağabeyli, Kemalli, Başdervişli, Budaklı, Beşenli in Dulkadiroğlu district, and in Nacar, Sakarkaya, Göynük, Gücük, Tetirlik, Yumaklıcerit in Pazarcık district, and in Tekir, Ilıca, Suluyayla, and Döngele neighborhoods in Onikişubat district, as well as in the neighborhoods of Kürtül and Kalekaya where transportation is provided for education.
BATMAN
In Batman's Sason district, education has been suspended for 1 day due to the expected heavy snowfall and adverse weather conditions. Sason District Governor Furkan Başar announced that education would be suspended for 1 day in all educational institutions on Tuesday, January 13, due to the heavy snowfall expected to be effective from tonight throughout the district.
Governor Başar also announced that on the same day, public personnel who are disabled, have chronic illnesses, or are pregnant will also be considered on administrative leave.
ORDU
In some districts of Ordu, education will not take place tomorrow due to adverse weather conditions. In a statement from the governorship, it was noted that due to heavy snowfall, frost risk, and icing, all public and private educational institutions, special education and rehabilitation centers, special education courses, and public education centers in Akkuş, Aybastı, Çamaş, Çatalpınar, Çaybaşı, Gölköy, Gürgentepe, İkizce, Kabataş, Korgan, Kumru, Mesudiye, and Ünye districts would be suspended for 1 day.
The statement also recorded that pregnant and disabled personnel working in public institutions and organizations, as well as mothers whose children attend daycare or kindergarten, will also be considered on administrative leave tomorrow.
KIRKLARELİ
In Kırklareli's Vize district, transportation-based education has also been suspended tomorrow due to adverse weather conditions. In a statement from the Vize District Governorship, it was reported that transportation-based education would be suspended for one day on Tuesday, January 13, due to adverse weather conditions and the potential icing that may occur as a result.
