DRUG OPERATION IN BAHÇELİEVLER
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Narcotic Crimes Division carried out an operation on January 9 upon receiving a tip-off that drug 'production and trafficking' was taking place in Bahçelievler. During the raid at the identified address, the police captured and detained 4 suspects. In the search conducted at the address, 1 kilogram and 201 grams of skunk, 217 kilograms of cocaine, 28 ready-to-sell packages totaling 145 grams of skunk, 21 ready-to-sell packages totaling 27 grams of cocaine, 13 drug pills, 1 precision scale, 1 pistol, 52 cartridges, and 14,550 TL in cash were seized. After the detention procedures were completed, the suspects were sent to the courthouse. Following their statements to the prosecutor's office, the 4 suspects were arrested for the crime of 'producing and selling narcotic or stimulant substances.'
SHOWING A LAWYER ID TO AVOID POLICE CONTROL
It was stated that one of the suspects, lawyer E.E., used his lawyer ID to pass through police checkpoints and acted in concert with the other suspects, serving as a courier.
Meanwhile, as part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, work was initiated against 12 suspects identified as engaging in drug trafficking in Sancaktepe. Operations were carried out against suspects for whom arrest warrants were issued. In simultaneous operations conducted in Sancaktepe, Ataşehir, and Ümraniye, 8 suspects were detained. It was determined that 4 of the suspects were already in prison for other crimes.
12 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
After the procedures, the 8 suspects sent to the courthouse were arrested by the on-duty Peace Criminal Court and sent to prison, while an arrest warrant was also issued for the 4 suspects already in prison for other crimes as part of the same operation.
