Bekir Avcu, an 84-year-old man trying to cross the road at a pedestrian crossing, became the target of a speeding car. The images of the elderly man being thrown several meters into the air due to the impact were chilling.
HE WAS USING THE PEDESTRIAN CROSSING
The incident took place on Turhan Cemal Beriker Boulevard in the Fevzipaşa neighborhood of Seyhan district. According to the information obtained, a car with the license plate 34 FGB 201, driven by D.V., rapidly hit Bekir Avcu, who was trying to cross the road using the pedestrian crossing. As a result of the impact, the elderly man was thrown several meters into the air and fell onto the asphalt. Nearby citizens rushed to help immediately after the horrific accident.
PAINFUL NEWS CAME FROM THE HOSPITAL
Health teams, who arrived at the scene shortly after the notification, provided first aid to the severely injured 84-year-old Bekir Avcu. He was immediately taken to the hospital and placed in intensive care, but despite all the efforts of the doctors, he could not hold on to life. The news of the elderly man's death plunged his family and loved ones into mourning.

THE DRIVER WAS SENT TO JAIL
After the accident, the driver D.V., who was taken into custody by the police, was referred to the courthouse after the procedures at the police station. The driver, who was tried for "causing death by negligence" in the court he was brought to, was arrested and sent to prison. The police are conducting a comprehensive investigation into the accident.
